Do you set goals?
Do you stick to them?
I’m a big advocate personally.
They keep me on track for the life I want to create, I practice gratitude and habit tracking alongside them, and writing in my goals journal daily gives me life on bad days as I see what I’ve achieved even when I feel like the day has owned me, not the other way around.
In Self Love Week, I shared my top tips for creating the right goals, and sticking to them.
Here’s a flavour:
✨ Why set goals? The main reason for me is – we can’t change the whole world, but we can change our own world. I see so many people living half a life. Knowing they’re not happy, but struggling to know how to change things. Goals are the key! I’m living proof, and so are my clients.
✨ Burn, baby, burn(out). I am a strong believer that burnout often stems from misalignment with purpose. That is to say, you are doing something, work or life wise, that isn’t aligned with what you want. So why not set goals that move you towards what you DO want?
✨ The top three reasons people tell me they can’t change: time, they don’t know where to start, they can’t commit and keep focus. Good job I have strategies for all three, really. 😉
✨ Time. Not to get all Molly Mae on you, apart from a handful of exceptions (very young kids, caring responsibilities, you work for the NHS or in some other time sucking role), you do have time – you just aren’t using it for the right things. 🫣 Trust me, it’s true. Check your screen time right now. Ok, maybe you’re one of the few who’s disciplined with their phone. But are you really telling me you can’t free up 5, 10, 20, 30 minutes for yourself each day? Big change starts with tiny habits.
✨ Where to start. If your life feels like a total sh*tshow, it’s hard to know where to start. I know, cos I’ve been there. Sadly more than once! Check the full video for a super simple exercise that will get you started.
✨ How to commit and keep focus. Simply put – writing your goals down, having accountability, and visibility. To sum it up, write things down, tell people what you’re doing and get them to keep you on track, and keep them visible via a whiteboard, vision board, or post its. Whatever works!
That’s a whistle-stop tour – check the full video for a step-by-step .
