Happy New Year!
I know it’s late to be saying that, but I haven’t posted since 2024…
Feels like a lifetime ago, to be honest.
The first few weeks of 2025 have been busy!
The day job has gone wild, but having two days a week to work on my businesses fooled me into thinking I’d have lots of space and time.
Hasn’t quuuuite worked out that way. But it’s all good.
Many of us struggle with January… it’s often grey and dull, we may have been paid before Christmas so one pay packet has to last longer, it’s cold.
But also, remember we are taught to hate it.. see the “Blue Monday” hype…
We are animals, so we should be moving slower (or even hibernating) in the natural order of things.
Modern life doesn’t really allow for this.
So we have to make it so.
That’s where I’m finding January Joy.
Permission to myself to be “lazy”. To do less. To slow down.
To nourish myself instead of punishing myself with strict diets and negative self-talk.
To get back into routines, gently.
To write, read, watch and listen to things that inspire me.
Here are my slices of January Joy!
✨ Long days and evenings snuggled under my heated blanket watching films and box sets (recently: Black Doves, Day of the Jackal, SAS Rogue Heroes)
✨ Daily walks all wrapped up then home for a hot cuppa
✨ Soups and stews in the slow cooker – so low effort
✨ Early nights with a great book
✨ Planning amazing holidays and meetups with friends
✨ Phone chats and voicenotes with loved ones
✨ The days getting longer
